GP appointments are available to book from 8am for the same day and 21 days in advance. If you have been unable to secure an appointment and your need is urgent, you will be booked for a triage call with the emergency doctor that we have on call every day. If this doctor offers you an emergency appointment, please note that this is a sit and wait system which is prioritised by urgency. GP appointments are available to book online, by the phone and at the reception desk.
Nurses appointments are available to book at any time and can be booked by the phone or at the reception desk.
For some problems, it may not be needed for you to come into the surgery to see a doctor. If you wish, the reception staff can arrange a telephone consultation with a GP. Telephone consultations can be booked at any time and can be booked by the phone or at the reception desk.
We will require at least 24-48 hours notice if you cannot attend an appointment at the surgery. Cancellations on the day may be regarded as non-attendance as it may not be possible to fill the appointment in time.
Sometimes it is necessary for the doctor or nurse that you are seeing to perform an intimate examination. In accordance with the Practice Policy you may be asked if you would feel more comfortable with a chaperone present for this type of examination. Please do not hesitate or be embarrassed to ask for a chaperone if you would like one. We understand the reasons for such requests and will always provide a chaperone for those patients who want them. Please note that any member of staff asked to chaperone have had their chaperone training.
Interpretation and Translation Services
If you require the service of an interpreter for an appointment, either for a language other than English or for British Sign Language (BSL), please inform us at reception in advance of your appointment date so we can book an Interpreter for you.
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:30.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP.
